Biltmore Who’s Who Selects Paul Robinson as this week’s Honored Member of the Executive and Professional Registry for 2009.
Paul Robinson, Military Officer and Director for the United States Marine Corps, has been selected as an Honored Member of the Biltmore Who’s Who Executive and Professional Registry. The selection recognizes Paul Robinson’s commitment to excellence in government and military.
Robinson, who holds a BBA in Management from Northwood University, followed by an MBA from Columbia Southern University, has spent the last twenty-six years of his career as a marine officer.
As a military officer for the Marines, Robinson maintains quality assurance of information systems, supports the deployment units, oversees the maintenance of personnel records, and is the director of Marine Forces Reserve Installation. “My experience interacting with the service men and women has been mainly in leadership, physical training, and career enhancement,” he said.
With his military career soon coming to a close, Robinson hopes to land an instructor position where he can teach at the university level. He is currently working on his master’s degree in Human Resource Development at Villanova University in hopes of developing a better sense of the civilian sector and corporate culture. “Although I have been training and developing young people, I have not been involved in the personal aspect of employee’s careers, work life, and benefits,” he explained. “I believe by earning my master’s degree, I will be better prepared.”
More recently, Robinson has been involved with the Wound Warrior initiatives. He has traveled throughout the country visiting wounded Marines at Medical treatment facilities and the Veterans Administration Hospital. The purpose of his travels was to ensure that the wounded Marine and his/her family members were receiving the correct pay, entitlements, and support that they rated returning from combat. The experience of seeing those young men and women still motivated after all they endured, Robinson said, “was well worth my six months of traveling and over four hundred record audits that were conducted.”
Robinson is currently certified in equal opportunity management through the Defense Equal Opportunity Management Institute in Coco, Florida. He serves on the board of directors for the Military Officer Association of America. He has won numerous awards, including an Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal in 1997, two Marine Corps Commendation Awards, an Achievement Award from the US Navy, and two Good Conduct Medals. He volunteers his time to the Adopt-A-School Program, acts as a mentor to young men and women in his community, and also coaches various sports. In his spare time, Paul enjoys playing golf, painting, and doing sketch art.
